Winespectator (95)

A ripe and rich ’95 boasting a remarkable essence of crushed berries, this is classic Port. It’s full-bodied and quite sweet, with the velvetiest of tannins and a long, long ripe fruit finish

James Suckling (95)

This shows figs, salted chocolate and prunes with a subtle, pleasant, herbal note. Full and unctuous but not overwhelming, it has silky, enveloping tannins and a long, delicate finish. It will continue to age gracefully for a long, long time.

Jancis Robinson (18)

This is part of the Symingtons’ Library Release range, ie a second, later release of a wine they consider ready to drink and in particularly good shape. Mainly a field blend.
Dark core with bricky rim. Sweet black fruits, blackberry, plum and black fig. So much fruit, just starting to coalesce to the point where you cannot pick out specific flavours. Smooth, deep and rich. Harmonious, long and youthful but everything now falling into place.
