The yellow-gold colored 2022 Grand Cru Schlossberg is very intense and concentrated on the elegant, floral and finely stony nose. Rich and round on the palate, this is a concentrated, very intense and mineral Schlossberg Riesling with fine tannins and a long, intense and substantial, saline finish. Bottled in August 2023, this is already a stunningly accessible Riesling. 13.5% stated alcohol with less than four grams per liter of residual sugar. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.

The 2022 Schlossberg Grand Cru is a field blend of mainly Riesling with some Pinot Gris and Muscat, planted on one of the driest parts of the Schlossberg and Deiss, that emphasizes that the constituents of field blends are not chosen for taste profile but according to site profile. The nose has a tender notion of orange peel, accompanied immediately by a gorgeous lift of lemon balm and tangerine, a most beguiling nose. The palate strikes with the immediate clarity of stoniness, precision and understated power. This is direct, naked and gorgeous, with just a little more generosity on the finish. It soars like a Gothic turret. (Bone-Dry)
