Robert Parker (87)
The 1985 Rivesaltes, which was bottled in 2013 by Philippe Gayral, has a lucid amber color. It has an attractive nose of caramel, over-ripe Satsuma, honeycomb and touches of fig. The palate is well balanced with an oxidative, walnut and smoke opening. There is a lightness of touch here – not a heavy Rivesaltes, quite elegant in fact. Slightly chilled. This would make a perfect aperitif.

Very pale and transparent orange. Spicy, almondy nose with real lift and great balance. Lifted. Chewy.
