Burghound (92)
An appealingly spicy if distinctly earthy nose is comprised by notes of both red and dark wild berries and a whiff of the sauvage. The succulent, round and generous medium weight flavors possess good power that suffuses the austere and lingering finish where the only nit is a touch of warmth. At least some patience will be required here as well.
Jasper Morris (92)
Deep purple with a sense of attractive ripe fruit, lively yet balanced, ripe but not too heavy, perhaps just a touch of volatility. Generous dark fruit, more structure behind, and finally the savoury note that comes from this end of the appellation. Properly long and the volatility disappears
