The 2022 El Hombre Bala Albillo Real has a sensation of slightly higher ripeness despite being lower in alcohol than the 2023 I tasted next to it, a moderate 13% in this case. It has notes of dry hay and straw, with weight, ripeness and a round palate, with some creaminess despite not having gone through malolactic. It’s quite a varietal Albillo Real. 8,264 bottles produced.

A little sweaty on the nose. Soft and easy. Different! Good bite on the end after a mealy start. Albillo is definitely to be encouraged. Though I don’t think this one is a long liver.
