Burghound (95)
An exuberantly spicy nose consists mostly of dark raspberry, cherry, violet, sandalwood and a suggestion of jasmine tea. The caressing and voluptuous big-bodied flavors also brim with sappy dry extract that imparts a highly seductive mouthfeel to the hugely persistent finish that is shaped by a very firm yet reasonably refined tannic spine. This superb effort will require extended patience, but it should be more than worth the wait.
