Robert Parker (94)
Rousseau’s 1993 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is showing superbly, unfurling in the glass with aromas of cassis and plums mingled with smoked meats, dark chocolate, peonies and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it’s layered and intense, with a brooding core of fruit girdled by racy acids and refined, powdery tannins.
