Robert Parker (94)
The Rocche di Castiglione vineyard extends to both Monforte d’Alba and Castiglione Falletto, but Oddero farms a parcel in the latter. The vines at this site are up to 50 years old. The 2013 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione shows impressive linearity and focus with tight berry and spice aromas. Those tones will undoubtedly flesh out and take on more volume with time. This elegant Barolo promises a long aging future ahead.
James Suckling (96)
Aromas of pine needles, black tea and dark spices with the plums and berries. Full-bodied, tight and very focused with dense fruit balance and a fresh, vibrant finish. Still a little shy, but already showing greatness.
