Winespectator (94)
Broad and rich, exhibiting plum, cherry, earth and underbrush aromas and flavors. Reveals a dense matrix of tannins that lend support, with lively acidity. This finds nice equilibrium in the end, where a vestige of ripe Nebbiolo fruit lingers.
James Suckling (94)
Lovely perfumes here with rose petal, cloves, and strawberry with some citrus. Medium body, with firm and linear tannins that are fine and racy. Shows lovely length.

Barolo. Just mid ruby. Concentrated and perfumed red fruit on the nose, with a savoury, minerally undertow and a hint of oak. Lively raspberry fruit with plenty of acidity and lots of grainy tannins. Lithe and elegant – perhaps a tad too much for the considerable tannic load, at least for now. More to come?
